Skoda Superb passenger seat problem

I'm hoping someone can offer some advice. I have a 2005 Skoda Superb with a gasoline engine and 213405 km on the clock. Recently, the passenger electric seat stopped working. I scanned the car with a diagnostic tool, and it shows an error stored in the error memory related to the seat. The seat adjustment is completely unresponsive. I suspect it might be related to a low battery, as it was heavily discharged recently, but I'm not entirely sure where to start troubleshooting the seat wiring or the seat switch. Any ideas?

I had a similar issue with my electric seat in my old Volvo. It turned out to be related to a voltage issue. Have you checked the seat wiring and the seat switch for any obvious signs of damage or corrosion? I would also suggest checking the voltage at the seat motor itself.

Thanks for the reply. When you say voltage issue, do you mean the main car battery, or is there a separate power source for the seat? Where exactly did you measure the voltage on the seat motor?

I was referring to the main car battery. In my case, a failing battery caused a voltage drop that affected the seat control module. I would recommend having your battery checked first. If the battery is fine, then further investigation of the seat motor and related components might be needed. If you are unsure, it might be best to take it to a workshop.

Just letting you know that it was a heavily discharged battery causing the passenger seat issues. I had the battery replaced, and the error is gone, and the seat is now fully functional. The repair was 290€ Thanks again for your help.
