Škoda Superb starts badly
(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Skoda Superb Diesel is experiencing issues such as the check engine light coming on, engine shutting off, cold starts, power loss, rough running, and sometimes not starting at all. The owner suspects a faulty fuel pump. One suggestion was to check the software values for the fuel pump, as incorrect values could cause these problems. Other potential causes could be a clogged fuel filter or bad injectors, with recommended solutions including a diagnostic scan, fuel pressure test, and electrical checks.

Thanks for the tip about the software, that sounds really plausible. My Superb already has a whopping 198432 km on the clock, but at the last service (recently) everything was still in order. Maybe I really should have the garage check whether there's something wrong with the software. You're right, you definitely sleep better for 45 euros. Thank you!

Hey, no problem, always happy to help. With so many kilometers, it's not far-fetched that the fuel pump is slowly giving up the ghost and the software is going crazy. I agree, check it out at the garage. Hopefully that will solve your problem. And yes, for 45 euros it's a real bargain and could save you a lot of headaches. Keep us posted on how it turns out. Good luck!

Hey, will do! I'll post an update as soon as I have news. I really hope it's just a software issue and not a broken fuel pump. Your advice has been really helpful. Thanks for that, I really appreciate it. So long guys!

Since you have the following issues (check engine light comes on, engine shutting off, cold starts, power loss and rough running engine) with your 2013 Skoda Superb Diesel. I would say it is most likely a faulty fuel pump, clogged fuel filter, or bad injectors. I would recommend having a diagnostic scan, fuel pressure test, and electrical checks done at a reputable place. Good Luck!

Hey, had a similar problem with my 2011 Skoda Octavia diesel, obviously I'm not the greatest car mechanic but still have a bit of experience with cars. At my garage they checked the software values for the fuel pump. It turned out that they were wrong. They did it all for 45 euros. A small price to pay to get a good night's sleep, right? Could you tell us a bit more about your car? That could be really helpful to give you more advice. Hope this helps you.
