Skoda Superb Windshield Washer Heater Problem

I have a problem with my 2023 Skoda Superb hybrid. The windshield washer heater seems to be faulty. I'm getting an error stored in the error memory, and the spray nozzles are frozen at cold temperatures despite using winter washer fluid. Given the error, I'm guessing the cable or plug connection of the component is defective. Has anyone experienced this before?

Summary of the thread

A 2023 Skoda Superb hybrid owner reported a problem with the windshield washer heater, which led to frozen spray nozzles in cold temperatures despite using winter washer fluid. The issue was identified as a defective cable or plug connection to the heating element, confirmed by an error message. The suggested solution was to have the connection checked and repaired at a workshop, which resolved the problem.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I encountered a similar issue with my Superb. The spray nozzles froze solid during winter driving. I would suggest checking the washer fluid level and concentration first. Are you using winter washer fluid rated for the temperatures in your area? Also, can you hear the washer motor running when you try to spray the windshield?

The washer fluid is fine, and the washer motor is running. But the error code points specifically to the washer heater. I suspect a problem with the heating element itself. Did you also have an error message?

Yes, I did get an error message too, related to the washer heater. Given that you have already checked the basics and are getting the same error, it is likely a faulty connection or the heating element itself as the error indicates. I would recommend taking it to a workshop for proper diagnosis and repair. It's a relatively inexpensive fix.

Thanks for the confirmation. I had it checked out. As suspected, it was a defective plug connection to the heating element. Repair cost was around 95€. All good now for winter driving.
