Skoda Yeti ABS Traction Control Problem

My 2011 Skoda Yeti with a gasoline engine is throwing a speed signal fault. The ABS light is on, and the traction control is acting up. The ABS system is essentially non-functional. Mileage is at 60556 km. Based on my research, it seems like the affected control unit might be defective, but I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this issue, especially concerning the ECM, speedometer readings on the dashboard, or potentially the transmission. Any advice on further diagnostic steps?

Sounds familiar. I had similar ABS and traction control issues with my Yeti. Did you check the wheel speed sensors? They can trigger those lights. Also, have you run a diagnostic scan to pull any error codes?

Thanks for your input. I did check the wheel speed sensors, and they seem fine. The diagnostic pointed towards a speed signal fault. Were your symptoms identical, and did the diagnostic also indicate an ECM or transmission related issue?

Yes, my symptoms were almost identical. The error code pointed to an intermittent speed signal from the ECM, affecting the ABS and therefore the traction control. I initially suspected a wiring issue, but the workshop confirmed it was the control unit itself. Given your diagnostic results, I'd strongly suggest getting it checked by someone with experience. I attempted a repair myself, but it was beyond my capabilities.

Appreciate the confirmation. Took it to a workshop, and you were spot on. Suspected ECM fault. Cost me around 1000€, but the ABS and traction control are working perfectly again.
