Skoda Yeti coolant loss and engine light
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Skoda Yeti is experiencing coolant loss and an illuminated check engine light, with a diagnostic tool indicating a defective component connection. Despite checking the radiator hoses, the issue persists, raising concerns about potential engine overheating. Suggestions include inspecting the radiator fluid, radiator cap, and cooling fan. Ultimately, the problem is identified as a faulty cable connection, which is resolved at a workshop.

Interesting, thanks! I haven't noticed any puddles, and the cap looks okay at a glance. When you had this issue, did the check engine light also come on?

Yeah, the check engine light definitely lit up for me too. In my case, it turned out to be a faulty cable connection. The mechanic told me the vibrations can sometimes loosen them. My advice? Don't mess around, get it to a workshop before it causes more damage.

I took it to the shop, and you were spot on! It was a dodgy connection, just like you said. They charged me 95€ to sort it. Thanks for the heads-up, you saved me a lot of stress!

Low radiator fluid? Sounds familiar. I had a similar scare with my Skoda a while back. Do you see any coolant on the ground when you park? When was the last time you replaced the radiator cap? It might be worth checking the cooling fan as well, is it running constantly?
