Skoda Yeti Cruise Control and Starting Issues

Thanks for the fast response! I had a look at the switch itself, but I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to electricals. Where exactly should I be looking for the 'wiring harness' and 'connector'? Is there anything specific I should be looking for? I did notice some chafing on some of the wires, but I don't know if they go to the switch.

Given the symptoms and the error code pointing towards the clutch pedal switch, coupled with the chafing you observed on nearby wiring, I would concur with your initial assessment. A defective cable or plug connection is highly probable. However, since you're not entirely comfortable with electrical troubleshooting, I strongly advise taking it to a qualified workshop. Messing with the electrical system without proper knowledge can lead to further complications and potential damage.

Just a note to say it was the clutch pedal switch. The garage confirmed the cable was faulty. They replaced it, and everything is working now. Cruise control is back, the gear indicator is behaving, and most importantly, it starts reliably! The bill came to 95€, exactly as predicted. Thanks for the help!

Sounds like a classic case of a faulty clutch pedal position (CPP) sensor. The ECU uses that input for several functions: starting, cruise control, and even the gear selection indicator on some models. An intermittent or failed CPP sensor can throw all of those off. Have you checked the wiring harness and connector going to the switch itself? Sometimes a loose connection or damaged wire can cause similar symptoms.
