Skoda Yeti Diesel Cylinder Pressure Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Skoda Yeti diesel was experiencing cylinder pressure fluctuation, leading to higher fuel consumption, reduced engine power, and an illuminated check engine light. The issue was initially suspected to be a camshaft or more serious problem, but there was no engine knocking. After further investigation, it was discovered that a faulty sensor was causing erroneous error readings. Replacing the sensor resolved the issue, and the vehicle returned to normal operation without additional costs under warranty.

Interesting. When you say fuel injector, was it a complete failure, or just some kind of malfunction? Did you notice any other symptoms, like rough idling or unusual exhaust fumes? And what was the mileage on your car when that happened?

It wasn't a total failure, more like inconsistent fuel delivery. Yes, rough idling was definitely noticeable, especially when cold. I can't remember the exact mileage, but it was somewhere around the same as yours. If I were you, I'd take it to a workshop and get a proper diagnosis before it causes more damage.

Thanks for the insight. Turns out, it was a faulty sensor causing a cascade of error readings. The cylinder pressure fluctuation was a ghost, no actual engine knocking or anything serious. They replaced the sensor, cleared the codes, and everything's running smoothly now. Repair cost was 0€ under warranty!

Sounds like you've got a similar issue to what I had with my Yeti, although it was a while back. Higher fuel consumption and the check engine light are definitely red flags. Have you checked the fuel injector? That was the culprit for me. Could also be the head gasket, if you're unlucky.
