I'm experiencing some trouble with my 2011 Skoda Yeti diesel. It has 190622 km on the clock. The check engine light is illuminated, and the car is jerking when accelerating. There's also a whistling and loud hissing noise when I accelerate. Sometimes the engine stalls at idle. I've noticed higher fuel consumption and reduced engine power. Could this be a faulty pressure sensor in the turbo system, or a boost leak? I suspect a defective cable or plug connection.

Sounds very similar to an issue I had with my Yeti. Same engine. The check engine light came on, and it felt like the car was jerking when accelerating. I also noticed a whistling noise. Have you checked the boost pressure sensor and its connections? It could be a boost leak somewhere in the turbo system. It's like a water hose with a small hole, losing pressure.

Thanks for the suggestion. Where exactly is the boost pressure sensor located? Is it easy to check the connections myself, or would you recommend taking it to a workshop?

Yes, it does sound like the same issue I experienced. The sensor itself isn't too expensive, but if it is just a faulty connection, you might save some money by having a workshop take a look. They can diagnose it properly and fix the connection if that's the problem. Better safe than sorry, especially with the turbo system.

Just wanted to say thank you for the advice. It turned out to be a faulty connection on the boost pressure sensor, like you suggested. The workshop charged me 95€ to fix the cable/plug connection. Runs like new now.
