Skoda Yeti Diesel Engine Power Loss

I'm experiencing some issues with my 2010 Skoda Yeti diesel. The check engine light is on, and I've noticed a reduction in engine power. There's also a whistling noise and a loud hissing sound when accelerating. The error memory indicates a problem with the charge air temperature sensor. From what I've read, a likely cause is a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone encountered this before? Any tips on where to start troubleshooting the air temperature or charge sensor before I consider replacing parts?

I had a similar problem with my Yeti some time ago, same symptoms: check engine light, power loss, and that tell-tale whistling sound. Have you checked the air intake hose for any cracks or leaks? Also, what error code are you getting exactly? That might help narrow down the possibilities. Is the air sensor actually faulty?

Thanks for the quick reply! I did a quick visual inspection of the air intake hose, but didn't spot any obvious cracks. I'm getting an error related to the charge air temperature sensor. I haven't tested the sensor itself directly. How did you pinpoint the issue on your car? Any specific area I should focus on?

Sounds very familiar. I spent ages checking various components. My mechanic found that the cable leading to the charge sensor had corroded within the plug itself. I would advise you to inspect the wiring and the plug very carefully. If you are not comfortable doing it yourself, take it to a workshop. It could save you time and money in the long run.

Took it to the workshop as advised, and they found the cable and plug connection were defective. They replaced the parts, and the total cost came to 95€. The Yeti is running smoothly again. Thanks a lot for your help!
