Skoda Yeti Diesel Hands Free Microphone Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Skoda Yeti diesel experienced a failure in the hands-free microphone, rendering telephony non-functional and showing a fault in the error memory. The initial diagnosis suggested a defective infotainment system, with a repair cost quoted at 815€. A similar issue was noted by another owner, who confirmed that a replacement of the infotainment system was necessary. A second opinion from a local garage confirmed the initial diagnosis, leading to the replacement of the faulty system, resolving the issue.

Sound quality seemed alright for everything else, yeah. Parking sensors still beeped like normal, radio was fine. Voice recognition… well, I never really used it much to begin with, so can't say for sure. But the wireless connection was definitely dead. Any ideas?

Okay, given the other systems are working, it does sound like the microphone component within the infotainment unit itself. In my case, a microphone repair was not an option. A replacement infotainment system was the only real solution. The ambient noise cancellation feature was also affected in my case, although it didn't affect you. I would suggest getting a second opinion from a different workshop to confirm the diagnosis.

Thanks for the info! A local garage confirmed the infotainment system was faulty. 815€ later and I can make calls again! Appreciate the help!

That sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Yeti, though I can't remember the exact error code. Did you notice any degradation in sound quality from the other car systems, like the parking sensors or the stereo? Is voice recognition also affected, or is it purely the wireless connection for calls?
