Skoda Yeti Diesel Overheating and Slow Warm Up

I had a similar issue with my Yeti. The engine temperature took forever to rise, especially in winter. I suspected the temperature sensor, but the thermostat was faulty. Did your cooling fan run constantly, even when the engine was cold? That was another symptom. It's likely your coolant system isn't working as expected. Check the simple things first, like coolant level.

Did you also experience engine overheating, or just the slow warm-up? Did you replace the thermostat yourself, or have it done at a workshop?

No overheating for me, just the slow warm-up. But a faulty thermostat can definitely cause overheating too, if it's stuck closed. I didn't do the replacement myself; I took it to a workshop. It's a bit fiddly, and I didn't want to mess with the cooling system. I think it is best if you have it checked out by a professional.

I took the car to the workshop. It was a defective map thermostat, as suspected. The cooling system works as expected after the replacement. The cost was 350€.
