Yes, I did use an OBD reader, and it pointed to a glow plug fault. So, it does appear my diesel engine has a faulty glow plug. You mentioned you had a similar issue. Was it also a glow plug, and did you replace it yourself? If so, was it particularly difficult?

Indeed, the error code pointed directly to a faulty glow plug. I decided against attempting the replacement myself, considering the confined space and the risk of damaging the threads. I opted for the workshop. The mechanic confirmed the faulty glow plug and advised replacing all four simultaneously to ensure even wear and tear. Given your symptoms and the error code, I would advise doing the same. It is probably best to visit the repair shop.

Many thanks for sharing your experience. It seems I was on the right track with the glow plugs. Just got the car back from the shop. Indeed, it was a defective glow plug. All four were replaced, and the check engine light is now off. The bill came to around 440€. A bit steep, but at least it's sorted. Hopefully, this will help others with similar issues on their diesel car.

I own a Skoda Yeti as well, although I can't recall the build year. I've experienced similar symptoms with the preheating lamp and the check engine light. Have you checked the error codes with an OBD reader? It definitely sounds like a glow plug issue to me. Did you notice any engine misfire, especially when the engine is cold?
