Skoda Yeti Diesel Smoke and Warning Light Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Skoda Yeti diesel was experiencing a warning light and smoke during acceleration, potentially due to a non-regenerating DPF. The issue was suspected to be linked to a defective exhaust back pressure sensor, affecting emissions and engine performance. After professional inspection and replacement of the sensor, the warning light and smoke issues were resolved, and the DPF began regenerating properly.

Thanks for the reply. Where exactly is the pressure sensor located? And how difficult is it to check? I'm not very experienced with car repairs.

It's usually located near the DPF. To check it without proper tools can be tricky. Given your experience level, it's probably best to get it checked by a professional. A faulty sensor can mess with your vehicle emissions and engine performance. Better safe than sorry.

I took your advice and brought the car to the workshop. You were right; it was the exhaust back pressure sensor. They replaced it, and the warning light is gone, the smoke is gone, and the DPF is regenerating now. Total cost was 245€ Thanks for the help!

Sounds like a faulty exhaust pressure sensor. I had a similar issue with my Yeti. The symptoms are pretty much the same. Have you checked the sensor itself for any visible damage or loose connections? It's a long shot, but worth a look.
