Skoda Yeti Diesel Stalling Issue Resolved
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Skoda Yeti diesel experienced stalling at idle, reduced engine power, and an active check engine light, with diagnostics indicating a faulty fuel pressure regulator. The issue began after a fuel filter change, suggesting a possible pressure drop in the fuel rail. It was suggested to check for consistent fuel pressure and ensure the correct installation and type of fuel filter. Replacing the fuel pressure regulator resolved the problem, restoring normal function and fuel efficiency.

You mentioned a fuel pressure sensor. Is that the same as the fuel pressure regulator, or are they different? The fuel filter was changed right before this started. Could a bad install or a faulty filter be the problem?

My bad, I was too quick. It was the fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail, not just the sensor. And yes, a badly installed or wrong fuel filter could cause fuel pressure problems. Check the filter housing for leaks or damage and make sure the filter is right for your Yeti. If unsure, take it to a workshop.

Replacing the fuel pressure regulator fixed it. The error is gone and fuel efficiency is back. The cost was about 45€. Thanks for the help.

That sounds frustrating. I had something similar with my Fiat Punto diesel. Check engine light, rough idle. It was a faulty fuel pressure sensor. See if your Skoda's fuel pump is giving consistent pressure to the fuel rail. Is there a pressure drop when the engine stumbles? When did you change the fuel filter, and was it the right one?
