Skoda Yeti Diesel Vibration Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Skoda Yeti diesel with 33,609 km is experiencing uneven idling and vibrations, particularly at lower RPMs. A diagnostic scan revealed a fault related to the engine mount, which could indeed cause such issues. The problem was traced to a defective cable or plug connection on the engine mount, which was repaired at a workshop. This solution is expected to resolve the vibration issues.

Interesting, you mentioned the transmission mount. Is it common for a transmission mount failure to manifest similarly to a failed engine mount? Are these mounts difficult to inspect visually?

Yes, the transmission mount can absolutely cause similar vibration issues. If one mount fails, it puts extra stress on the others. A visual inspection might reveal cracks or excessive movement, but it's not always obvious. It sounds like you've already pinpointed the engine mount as the likely culprit and already suspect the wiring. To be honest, for the price of these parts and complexity of the task, I suggest taking it to a workshop.

Thanks for the help. The workshop found a defective cable/plug connection on the engine mount. The error memory also contained an entry about uneven idling. The repair was 95€. Hopefully, this resolves the vibration issues.

Uneven idling and vibration issues? Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms with my old Opel Astra after a motor mount failure. Did you check the transmission mount as well? It might be related. Did you confirm that it is a failed mount and not something else?
