Skoda Yeti door lock issue
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Skoda Yeti had an issue where the doors wouldn't lock or unlock, suspected to be due to a faulty door contact signal. The problem was likely caused by a defective cable or plug connection in the door latch. Suggestions included checking the wiring loom for damage, particularly where it enters the vehicle doors, as brittle wires can cause electrical issues. Ultimately, the problem was resolved by replacing a faulty door latch at a workshop.

Wiring loom, you say? Where exactly should I be looking for that? And how do I know if it's actually damaged? I'm not really an expert at this.

Yeah, the wiring loom is usually hidden by a rubber boot between the door and the car's body. Give that a wiggle and see if anything changes. If the wires are cracked, you might see exposed copper. Honestly, though, sounds like you need a multimeter to properly diagnose it. If you're not comfortable with that, a workshop might be the best bet. They'll be able to pinpoint the electrical issue.

Took it to the workshop, they confirmed it was a faulty door latch. Replaced the part, and it's all working again. Cost me 95€. Thanks for the advice!

Sounds like a dodgy door sensor to me. Had similar gremlins with my old Renault Megane. The central locking would go haywire. Have you checked the wiring loom where it enters the vehicle doors? They can get brittle and crack over time, causing an electrical issue.
