Skoda Yeti Engine Running Rich

Thanks for the quick reply! I did scan the codes, and it's showing a 'system too rich' error. Spark plugs were changed about 30000 km ago, so they should be okay, but I'll double-check them. When you had this issue, did the error code also point towards a rich mixture? And did you also experience jerking when accelerating?

Yep, that 'system too rich' error rings a bell. The jerking too. It’s like the engine is hiccuping. I messed around checking the intake manifold, vacuum leaks, and cleaning the mass airflow sensor thinking it was that, but in the end, it was a faulty injector. My advice? Get those injectors properly tested or just bite the bullet and replace them. It’s not always easy to diagnose without the right equipment. Save yourself the headache and get it to someone who knows their way around a fuel injection system.

Just wanted to let you know that you were right. I took it to a trusted mechanic, and after checking it thoroughly, it turned out to be a faulty fuel injector. I replaced all four, which cost 515€, but the Yeti is running smoothly again. The check engine light is off, the power is back, and the jerking is gone. Thanks a lot for your help!

Sounds like you've got a similar problem to what I had with my Yeti a while back. The check engine light is never a good sign. Rough running and reduced power definitely point towards a fuel issue. Have you checked your spark plugs recently? A bad air-fuel ratio can muck them up pretty quickly. Think of it like trying to bake a cake with too much sugar – it just doesn't work right. Also, has anyone scanned the car for error codes? That's always the first step.
