Skoda Yeti engine temperature warning
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Skoda Yeti owner experienced an engine temperature warning light, with error memory indicating an oil temperature sensor issue. Additionally, the oil pressure warning light activated, raising concerns about potential underlying problems. Suggestions included checking the oil temperature sensor and its connections, as faulty wiring could be the cause. Ultimately, a mechanic confirmed the issue was a faulty cable related to the temperature sensor, resolving the problem.

Thanks for the reply! How did you figure out it was the oil sensor and not something else? I'm a bit worried it could be something more serious, especially with the oil pressure light.

Well, in my case with the Megane, the error code pointed directly to the oil sensor. And since you have the same error plus the oil pressure light, it does sound like the temp sensor is the culprit or at least related. But honestly, with both lights on, it's probably best to get it checked by a mechanic. They can properly diagnose it.

I took it to the shop and you were right, it was the temp sensor! They said the cable was faulty. 95€ later and the Yeti is running smoothly again. Thanks for the help!

Sounds familiar! I had a similar thing happen with my old Renault Megane. Engine temperature warning light came on, but it turned out to be the oil temperature sensor. Could be a faulty temp sensor or maybe just a bad connection. Worth checking the wiring before anything else, maybe?
