Skoda Yeti Headlight Range Control Issues

Right, I'm officially losing my mind over this headlight malfunction on my 2010 Skoda Yeti (gasoline engine). The headlight range control seems completely buggered. I'm getting an error stored in the error memory, and that warning light is glaring at me from the speedometer. The low beam is either pointing at the ground or blinding aircraft. I'm guessing it's a defective servomotor in the headlight. Anyone else wrestled with this auto-leveling nightmare?

Summary of the thread

A 2010 Skoda Yeti owner is experiencing issues with the headlight range control, resulting in erratic low beam positioning and a persistent warning light. The problem is suspected to be caused by defective servomotors within the headlight assembly. A similar issue was resolved by replacing the servomotors and recalibrating the headlight unit, which ultimately fixed the malfunction and cleared the warning light.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Whoa, that sounds super familiar! I had a similar headlight malfunction issue with my Yeti (though mine's not a 2010). The auto-leveling went haywire, and the light intensity was all over the place. First, have you tried checking the headlight switch itself? Sometimes, it's just a loose connection. Also, did you recently change any bulbs? Incorrect bulbs can mess with the range control. Just a thought!

Cheers for the quick response! I did fiddle with the headlight switch, but no luck there. Bulbs are the correct ones, I double-checked. When yours went bonkers, was it throwing up errors in the error memory too? And did you notice the low beam shining way too low, or even up into the trees? Because mine's doing both intermittently and it's driving me nuts!

Yup, sounds exactly like what happened to mine. The error memory was full of headlight range control faults. And the light intensity was totally random – sometimes dipped, sometimes aimed for the stars! Honestly, I'd say save yourself the headache and get it checked at a workshop. It does sound like those servomotors are the likely culprits. Replacing them is a pain, and you'll probably need to recalibrate the whole headlight unit afterwards.

Dude, thanks a million for the confirmation! Took it to the workshop, and yep, both servomotors in the headlight assembly were toast. Ended up costing me a fortune - 1040€! But at least the headlight malfunction and that warning light are gone. Never thought headlight range control could cause so much headache! Really appreciate you sharing your experience!
