Skoda Yeti strange behavior

My 2010 Skoda Yeti with a diesel engine is exhibiting some strange behavior. There's an error stored, the unlocking/locking is unreliable, and I now need the key in the ignition to start the engine. Mileage is 187181 km. I suspect it's related to the bumper antenna, perhaps a defective cable or plug connection. Could the car antenna really cause all these issues?

I had similar issues with the radio signal on my Opel Corsa. The unlocking also failed. I would check the vehicle antenna mount for corrosion.

Did you also get an error message stored? The car radio itself seems fine, but I can't start the engine without the key in the ignition lock anymore.

Yes, exactly the same symptoms. It’s likely the car radio is affected by the antenna issue. In my case, the whole antenna system was affected. Better check with a workshop.

The Skoda workshop confirmed a defective cable or plug connection on the bumper antenna. The repair cost was 95€.
