Skoda Yeti Undervoltage Issues

Alright, I'm starting to get seriously frustrated with my 2012 Skoda Yeti with a gasoline engine. It's got about 61750 km on the clock. Recently, I've been getting undervoltage warnings, and it's causing havoc! The car struggles to start, various systems are throwing errors, the lights are weak and flickering, and the battery seems weak when starting. I suspect the battery is heavily discharged or defective, but I'm not sure where to begin. Has anyone experienced something similar? Any advice on troubleshooting the power supply or charging system?

Sounds like a similar issue I had with my Skoda Octavia. Check the battery health first and then the voltage regulator. Low voltage can cause all sorts of weird errors. How old is your battery?

Thanks for the quick reply! When you had the issue with your Octavia, did the dashboard lights also flicker, and did you also experience difficulty starting the car? I'm trying to narrow it down before taking it to the workshop.

Yeah, the flickering lights and poor starting were exactly what I experienced. My mechanic traced it back to a faulty battery that was causing a low voltage situation. I suggest getting the battery health checked and the charging system evaluated. If the battery is old, that's likely the culprit. A defective voltage regulator could also be the reason why your battery is not charging correctly. Probably best to get it checked out at a workshop.

Just wanted to say thanks again for your advice! Took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. They confirmed the battery was heavily discharged and failing. New battery and a check of the charging system later, and everything is running smoothly. Total cost was 290€. Appreciate you pointing me in the right direction!
