SLC Automatic Transmission Issues

Has anyone experienced problems with their SLC automatic transmission I have a 2018 Mercedes SLC with a gasoline engine and it's been acting up The engine sometimes won't start, the check engine light is on, and the gearbox feels like it's slipping or shifting roughly The error memory read points to a defective control unit related to the parking position Could this be related to the gear linkage or park brake What kind of transmission repair costs might I be looking at I'm estimating around 1000€

Hmm, that sounds familiar. I've got an SLC too, though I can't remember the exact year. Did it seem like the gear shifter was the problem at all Because mine was doing something similar, rough shifts, check engine light, the whole shebang. Ever thought about checking the automatic transmission fluid level

Interesting. No, the gear shifter seems to move okay, but maybe it's not communicating properly How did you figure out your issue Was it definitely the automatic transmission, and how did you resolve it

Yeah, mine was a pain. It turned out to be some kind of sensor issue inside the transmission itself, like the car didn't know it was in park. I didn't mess with it myself, way too complicated. Honestly, just take it to a reputable workshop that knows Mercedes gearboxes. It'll save you a headache in the long run. You don't want to damage it even further, right

Thanks for the advice. Took it to the shop, and you were spot on. Defective control unit. They replaced it, and it's running like new. Expensive, but worth it.
