SLC Vehicle Temperature Gauge Issue

The error code pinpoints the outside temperature sensor. I haven't thoroughly inspected the wiring harness for corrosion. Could you elaborate on the location of the connector? Is it easily accessible, or does it require dismantling any significant components?

The connector is located near the front bumper, on the driver's side. You may need to remove some plastic trim to access it properly. Frankly, given your symptoms and the error code, while cleaning the connector is worth a shot, it sounds like you are on track. For the price you mentioned, sensor replacement seems very reasonable. Maybe ask to check it at a workshop.

I inspected the connector as suggested. While there was very minor corrosion, the issues persisted even after cleaning. I proceeded with the sensor replacement at the estimated cost of 95€. The air conditioning is now functioning correctly, the spray nozzles are no longer freezing, and the mirror heating is behaving as expected. Thank you again for your help!

I had a similar issue with my SLC outside temperature sensor affecting the vehicle temperature gauge! The air conditioning behaved erratically, just like you described. Before you jump to sensor replacement, have you checked the wiring harness and connector? In my case, it was corrosion in the connector causing the problem. Electrical contact cleaner might do the trick. Was the error code pointing directly to the sensor itself?
