SM3 audio system fault
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Renault SM3 developed an audio system fault at 140,450 km, with the system completely non-functional and an error memory indicating a fault. The suspected cause is a defective display. A suggestion was made to check the head unit connections for loose wires, but due to the complexity of accessing these connections, professional diagnosis and repair are recommended.

No crackling, just silence. Where exactly are the head unit connections located? Are they easily accessible, or do I need special tools to get to them?

It's behind the dashboard, which isn't easy to access. It sounds like your issue might be more serious if there was no warning. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. I ended up paying 725€ for a new display.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like it's beyond my capabilities. I'll book it in for a diagnosis and repair.

I had a similar issue with my SM3. Check the head unit connections first, sometimes a loose wire can cause the whole thing to shut down. Also, any weird crackling from the speakers before it went silent?
