SM3 Engine Stalling
Summary of the thread
The 2019 Renault SM3 is experiencing engine stalling at idle and a check engine light, suspected to be related to the tank ventilation valve. Possible causes include a clogged hose or issues within the EVAP system, such as a faulty gas cap or purge valve. The solution involved taking the car to a technician, who identified and replaced blocked tank ventilation hoses.

The gas cap looks okay, but I'll check it closer. How can I test the purge valve without taking it out? Could the fuel tank itself be the problem?

Given the symptoms, I'd guess it's the tank ventilation system, especially the hoses. Instead of trying to fix it yourself, maybe take it to a shop. They can find the problem without guessing.

Thanks for the help. I took it to a technician, and they found blocked tank ventilation hoses that needed to be replaced. It cost 175€, which seems fair.

I had a similar issue with my Renault SM3. Did you check the gas cap? A bad seal can mess up the EVAP system. Also, is the purge valve working right? Is it stuck open or closed?
