SM3 gearbox slipping unclean shifts

I have a 2010 Renault SM3 with an electric engine and 145872 km on the clock. Recently, the gearbox has started slipping and the shifts are unclean. I suspect it's a transfer case oil wear fault, perhaps defective gears. Has anyone experienced this?

I had something similar with my SM3. Did you check for any oil leakage around the transfer case? It might be worth looking into the state of your gear oil before you assume the worst.

Thanks! I'll check for oil leakage. What exactly should I be looking for regarding the gear oil – color, consistency, level?

If it's dark, sludgy, or low, then you know you've got a problem. Honestly, though, my issue turned out to be worse than just low oil. I'd suggest a workshop to give it a look.
