SM3 Mirror Heating Issue

I have a 2006 Renault SM3 with a gasoline engine and only 59821 kilometers. The mirror heating on both sides doesn't work. There's an error stored, but I don't know what it means. Could it be a bad cable or plug, or should I check something else before replacing parts?

Summary of the thread

The 2006 Renault SM3 has a mirror heating issue on both sides, with an error stored in the system. Possible causes include a bad cable, plug, or issues with the heating element circuit. Suggested solutions involve checking the voltage on the heating element and consulting a mechanic for testing and potential replacement of faulty parts.

Interesting. I have the same model! Mirror heating issues, you say? Was the error also stored in your car's memory? Because I also had exactly the same symptoms a few months ago. Did you check the voltage on the heating element?

Yes, the error was logged. I haven't measured the voltage yet. Did you find out what the error code was? Knowing that might help.

I don't remember the exact error code. But it pointed to the heating element circuit. To avoid headaches, I'd recommend a workshop. I had mine replaced for 95€ at my local car repair shop.

Thanks for the help. Your experience is similar to mine. I'll take it to a mechanic for testing and replacement.
