Summary of the thread
The conversation centers around a 2016 Renault SM3 experiencing stiff steering and vibration, potentially due to intermittent power steering failure. Thanks. I haven't had the sensor specifically checked for coding. Does this require specialized diagnostic equipment, or can general OBDII tools do it? What was the final repair on your car?

Coding requires specialized tools, beyond most generic OBDII scanners. Best to bring it to a reputable workshop with the right equipment. In my case, there was an error. After the replacement, everything worked.

I appreciate the insight. Based on your experience, I'll consult a qualified technician to assess the sensor's coding and schedule an appointment. The invoice shows 130€ for the sensor and 65€ for labor, so 195€ total. Thanks again.

I experienced similar symptoms in my SM3. The vibrating steering wheel and reduced power steering assistance are concerning. Have you had the sensor checked for proper calibration or coding? Faulty coding can cause those issues.
