SM3 transmission oil temperature sensor issue
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Renault SM3 with a gasoline engine is experiencing issues related to a potentially faulty transmission oil temperature sensor. Symptoms include the engine warning light being on, an error code related to the transmission, emergency mode activation, jerky shifts, and occasional grinding noises. The gearbox oil level is confirmed to be adequate. A suggested solution is to replace the transmission oil temperature sensor, which may resolve the problem, as similar symptoms were resolved in another case by changing the sensor and oil.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Yes, mine is automatic. Was it the same symptoms? Did you also experience the emergency mode and the grinding noises?

Exactly the same symptoms. At the time I changed oil and sensor. The problem was gone, but I made a mistake, and didn't do it myself. The sensor replacement itself isn't that expensive, but the car needs to go to the workshop anyway to read out the error memory.

Thanks for confirming! I'll check the sensor first. Already scheduled a visit at my mechanic to change the sensor. The bill will be around 365€. Hopefully, that fixes it!

I had similar issues with my SM3. Is it an automatic? Check your gearbox sensor; maybe it's faulty as well. Start with the cheapest repairs you can find.
