SM5 Audio System Failure
Summary of the thread
The 2015 Renault SM5 experienced a dead audio system, with a diagnostic scan revealing a "display defective" error. Despite the display functioning, the error suggested a deeper issue with the unit. The display works, but there's no audio. The error code was something like "display defective". Where are the audio system fuses?

"Display defective" is common. If the display works and it's throwing that code, the unit probably needs replacement. Fuses are usually in the engine bay or under the dash. Get it checked at a workshop, but be prepared for a hefty bill.

My mechanic confirmed the display unit was fried. Cost me 725€ to replace, but at least I have tunes again. Thanks for the help!

Could be a few things. Note the error code. Does the display work, or is it just the audio that's dead? Have you checked the audio system fuses?
