Smartphone connection and GPS reception in the Audi A4 2018 not working

Hello everyone, I'm a bit desperate because my smartphone can no longer connect to my 2018 Audi A4 (gasoline, 36874 km run). GPS reception is also gone. Have any of you ever had similar connectivity issues? What did your mechanic do? I didn't have such a good experience at the garage last time. Thank you very much for your help!

Hi, This reminds me of my own annoyance with my 2015 Audi A3. On my last visit to the garage it was also a connectivity issue, but with the Bluetooth system, no GPS reception and my hands free function stopped working too. Like you, they updated the software first, but the problem persisted. So they read out the multimedia system, found errors and then replaced the infotainment module. It was a more serious problem, but after the replacement the connection was perfect again. I hope that helps you a little. Maybe it's a similar problem with your A4. All the best!

Hey, thanks for your quick reply, that sounds like exactly the same problem. Terrible! Stupid question, I can't remember, but do you remember how much you had to pay for the repair? And were there any other problems afterwards or did the solution hold? Best regards!

Yes, that was really annoying, but luckily everything went well. The visit to the mechanic definitely helped. Since then, the functional restrictions in connectivity have been resolved. It was probably due to a software version of the vehicle that was faulty. It cost €75 to fix it. Since then everything has been running smoothly and I've had no further problems. It was worth every penny if you ask me. Hope it works on your Audi too! Best regards back!

Thank you very much for the information, that is very helpful. It's good to hear that everything has been working for you since then. 75 sounds a lot at first, but if it solves my problems permanently, it's definitely worth considering. I'll give my mechanic a call and hope that he can sort it out. I'll keep my fingers crossed for myself! Thanks again and best wishes!
