Smartphone connection error
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Ford Puma owner experienced a 'Smartphone cannot be connected' error, suspecting an incorrect pairing issue despite trying standard Bluetooth troubleshooting. Another owner suggested checking the vehicle's ignition system, as a weak electrical supply might cause connection problems. The issue was ultimately resolved by a workshop, identifying a minor software glitch in the car's communication module, which was fixed with a system re-flash.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll check the ignition system. When you had the issue, did it prevent all smartphone connections, or was it intermittent? Also, did you find any specific error codes related to the electrical supply?

In my case, the connection was completely non-functional. The workshop identified a minor fault in the car's communication module that was impacting the Bluetooth pairing. They advised that any amateur attempts to fix this can cause further damage, and suggested that you take yours to a workshop too.

Thanks! I appreciate the advice. I took it to the workshop as you suggested. Turns out it was a minor software glitch. A re-flash of the system, costing 45€, resolved the connection issues. Everything is working perfectly now.

I had a similar issue on my Puma. Have you tried checking the vehicle's ignition system alongside your phone's Bluetooth settings? A weak or unstable electrical supply during the pairing process can sometimes cause this issue.
