SMAX Blower Motor AUC Sensor Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Ford SMAX Hybrid experienced a blower motor malfunction, with diagnostics indicating a fault in the AUC sensor. The issue was suspected to be caused by a defective cable or plug connection. After inspecting the connector and considering erratic recirculation behavior as a symptom, it was advised to seek professional help. Ultimately, replacing the AUC sensor resolved the problem, restoring the blower motor's functionality.

I inspected the connector visually but didn't notice any obvious corrosion. Given the sensor's location, a more thorough examination might be warranted. How would erratic recirculation behavior manifest?

Erratic behavior would likely present as recirculation randomly cycling on and off, or failing to engage when it should, based on air quality. If you're not seeing that, and the connector looks good, a deeper dive is needed. Since you lack obvious symptoms beyond the inoperative blower, I'd advise getting it checked professionally to avoid unnecessary component swaps.

Took your advice and the problem was indeed the AUC sensor. Replaced it; cost 95€. Blower motor is now functioning correctly. Thanks again for your assistance.

Sounds plausible. The AUC sensor, or cabin air sensor, can cause blower issues. Have you checked the sensor's connector for corrosion or damage? Is the auto recirculation function behaving erratically?
