SMAX Headlight Washer Failure

Headlight cleaning system on my 2021 Ford SMAX Hybrid (39438 km) has stopped working. Windshield washer is also dead. I suspect a defective cable connection to the pump or the relay. Anyone else had this?

Interesting. The headlight washer system on the SMAX is usually pretty robust. If both the headlight and windshield washers are out, it points to a central problem, like the pump or its electrical supply. Are you sure it's not just frozen washer fluid? Have you checked the fuse box for blown fuses related to the washer system? Any sign of a leak around the washer fluid reservoir or along the hose leading to the nozzles? Even a small leak can prevent proper pressure.

Thanks. I can confirm the washer fluid isn't frozen. Which specific fuse should I be examining? And regarding leaks, would this be easily noticeable, even with the undertray in place?

Good to rule out the frozen fluid. Check the vehicle's manual; it should list the fuse for the windshield washer pump and, if separate, one for the headlight washers. It depends on the size of the leak. A minor seep might not be obvious immediately, especially with the undertray. A significant leak should leave a visible puddle or dampness after using the washers a few times. If you're not comfortable tracing the wiring and checking for voltage at the pump, it might be best to have a workshop take a look. It could save time and frustration.

I appreciate your insights. I visited a local workshop. The issue was indeed a faulty connection to the pump, as initially suspected. The repair cost 165€ Thank you.
