SMAX High Voltage Error

I've got a 2023 Ford SMAX hybrid with 100959 km on the clock. Recently, I've been getting a high-voltage system error message. The error is stored in the memory, and sometimes the engine shuts off or has reduced power. Could this be a heavily discharged or defective battery?

I had a similar issue with my SMAX. It could be a battery issue, but check your electrical wiring first. Look for any signs of cable damage near the battery and inverter. A small electrical fault can trigger those warnings.

Thanks for the tip! Where exactly should I be looking for potential cable damage? Is there a specific area that's more prone to issues?

Check around the inverter and where the high-voltage cables connect to the battery. It's best to have it checked by a workshop. Faulty electrical wiring can be a symptom of something more serious, so I would advise taking it to a mechanic.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. It turned out to be a defective cable causing the issue. The repair cost me 290€, which is better than a new battery!
