SMax start stop failure

Oh man, that sounds familiar! I had almost exactly the same issue with my S-Max, although it wasn't the hybrid version. Constant errors, engine cutting out... it was pretty scary at times. What kind of driving do you usually do?

I drive mostly short distances, about 15-20 minutes each way, a few times a day. Why do you ask? Did yours behave exactly the same way with the engine not restarting after stopping, or did it at least try?

Yes, mine was doing the same thing. It cut out a few times at the lights and wouldn't restart at all, I had to manually restart it with the key, super annoying. I do mostly short drives too, so it might be the same thing. All that I know is that you should get it checked at a workshop, because I think it's better safe than sorry, you know?

Thanks for the insight. I'll get it checked out. Preliminary diagnosis points to a heavily discharged or defective battery, and replacement should cost around 290€.
