Solar sensor fault Grandland X
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Vauxhall Grandland X is experiencing a 'solar sensor fault' error, leading to low heating output. The issue may stem from a defective cable or plug connection, as suspected by the owner. A similar problem in another vehicle was due to a faulty sunlight sensor connection, suggesting that checking the sensor calibration or visiting a workshop could resolve the issue. The owner has decided to book a workshop visit for further diagnosis and repair.

Interesting. What exactly went wrong with your Peugeot? Was it a pain to diagnose?

It was a nightmare! Turned out to be a faulty sunlight sensor connection. The system was reading incorrect data. Given your Grandland X's age and mileage (109569 km), and that you already suspect the wiring, I'd say a workshop visit is probably a good idea. You don't want to mess with the HVAC system yourself unless you know what you're doing.

Booked it in. Seems like a new sensor and fitting will be 95€. Thanks for confirming my suspicions!

Hmm, that's a weird one. Sounds like the HVAC sensor might be on the fritz. I had a similar issue with my old Peugeot – different error code, but also related to a sensor affecting the climate control. Check the sensor calibration, or take it to the garage.
