Sonata electric steering column defective
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Hyundai Sonata owner experienced a defect in the electric steering column adjustment, with an error stored and the column unable to adjust electrically. Initial advice suggested checking cable and plug connections, which appeared fine upon inspection. Further suggestions included consulting a workshop, as the issue might involve the motor or control module. Ultimately, a defective cable/plug connection was identified and repaired at a workshop.

Thanks, I did check the connections, but everything seems to be in order. I'm starting to think it is beyond my abilities. Anything else I should be looking for before I give in?

Yeah, if you've already checked the connections, it's probably time to take it to a workshop. Could be the motor itself, or the control module. It will be more effort than it is worth to keep digging yourself. Save your energy!

Thanks for the advice. I took it to the shop, and you were right, it was a defective cable/plug connection on the column, and the repair was only 95€ Appreciate the help!

Sounds like what happened on my Sonata. Did you check the cable and plug connections to the column? Could be a loose wire. It's like a loose tooth if you ask me. If you jiggle it, sometimes it will go back to work.
