Yes, I used a fault code reader, and it did point towards some irregularities. Did your diagnostic also point towards the chip tuning as the source of the problem? And did you notice any dashboard lights illuminating?

Indeed, the error codes I retrieved suggested the chip tuning was the culprit. There were some warning lights on the dashboard as well. Considering this, it would be best to take your Sonata to a workshop for a proper diagnosis.

Thank you for confirming. I took it to a trusted mechanic, and as you suggested, the issue stemmed from the faulty chip tuning. The repair, involving remapping the ECU, cost me around 180€. Appreciate your help!

I also drive a Hyundai Sonata, and I had similar issues not long ago. Have you checked the fault codes with an auto scanner? It could give you more insight into the specific problem areas.
