Sonata Hybrid engine mount issue

I'm having a weird issue with my 2015 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid. It's got 164153 km on it. The check engine light came on, and the code reader is showing an error related to a defective engine mount. I've also noticed some uneven idling, almost like the engine is vibrating more than it should. I've checked the obvious stuff like vacuum lines and looked for any visibly broken rubber, but no luck. I suspect it could be a bad cable or plug connection. Anyone else experienced this?

Summary of the thread

A 2015 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid with 164,153 km is experiencing a check engine light and uneven idling, with a code indicating a defective engine mount. The issue is suspected to be related to a bad cable or plug connection, but further inspection reveals the engine mount itself is likely the problem. The suggested solution is to have the engine mount inspected and replaced at a workshop, which has been confirmed as necessary, with a repair cost quoted.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Interesting. I had a similar issue with my Sonata – not sure what year yours is, but the symptoms sound identical. It drove me nuts! I spent ages chasing down vibration issues, checking everything from the spark plugs to the exhaust. Turns out it was a failed engine mount. The error memory, like in your case, was also storing a defective engine mount error.

Wow, really? So it was the engine mount itself, not just a loose connection or something? Did you notice any specific symptoms besides the error code and vibration? And was it obvious when you found the failed mount, or did it take some serious poking around to diagnose?

Yeah, it was definitely the mount itself. The vibration was the biggest clue, especially at idle. It wasn't super obvious at first glance; the rubber mount looked okay, but once I got a pry bar in there, I could see it was completely shot. My advice? Get it up on a lift and give those mounts a good inspection. If you're getting the same error code, it's likely the mount. I would go to the workshop, so they can take care of it.

Thanks for the insight! I think I'll take your advice and bring it to a workshop. They confirmed your suspicion: The cable or plug connection of the component defective. The mount is indeed defective and they quoted me 95€ for the repair. Seems like a fair price. Thanks again for the help!
