Sonata Terminal 15 Ignition Error
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Hyundai Sonata is experiencing a Terminal 15 ignition positive interrupted error, causing the engine not to start. Initial checks of the starter solenoid, ignition switch, and battery terminals showed no issues, leading to suspicions of a defective cable or plug connection. A suggestion to check the ignition coil connections was made, and it was discovered that a corroded connector was the root cause. The problem was resolved by addressing the corroded connector.

Ignition coil connections... interesting. I'll add that to the list. When you say 'similar issue,' was it also throwing a Terminal 15 error, or just a no-start condition? Trying to narrow down if it's a common Sonata quirk.

Yeah, it was a no-start and the diagnostic pointed to something ignition-related. I didn't get the exact code. It turned out to be a corroded connector. I'd suggest getting a proper diagnostic done at a workshop to be sure.

Appreciate the insight! Workshop it is. Turns out it was indeed a corroded connector, just like you suspected. Cost me 95€ to get it sorted. Thanks again for the heads-up!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar starting issue with my Sonata. Did you check the connections to the ignition coil? Is it getting power?
