Sonic suspension issue
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Chevrolet Sonic is experiencing suspension issues, including an inability to lift, leaning to one side, and a bumpy ride, accompanied by error messages. The problem is suspected to be related to the suspension system. A similar issue in another vehicle was caused by a faulty valve on the air suspension bellows, leading to improper air distribution and eventual failure. The solution involved confirming the defect and replacing the faulty valve, which resolved the issue.

Interesting. So, if it was the air suspension valve, would that completely prevent the car from lifting at all? Because currently, it's like it's stuck in the lowest setting, and the ride is terrible.

Yes, in my case, it eventually led to a complete failure. Think of it like a punctured tire – the system tries to compensate but eventually gives up. The valve probably isn't sealing properly, leading to air leaks. I'd say get it to a workshop to confirm, but the signs definitely point to the air suspension bellows valve being defective.

Thanks for the insight. I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. Faulty air suspension bellows valve. Repair cost 590€. Appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my old Audi A6 – same symptoms: leaning, error messages, rock-hard ride. It turned out to be a faulty valve on one of the air suspension bellows. Essentially, the air wasn't being distributed properly, causing the lean.
