Thanks for the quick reply! I'm fairly handy with cars, but antennas are a bit of a mystery to me. Where exactly is the antenna located in the bumper, and is it easy to get to? Also, what exactly was wrong with your connection - corroded, loose, or something else?

It's usually behind the bumper, you might need to remove it or part of it. I didn't want to mess with it myself, so I went to the workshop. They said it was a defective plug connection, so I imagine corroded or loose like you mentioned. In my case the error code pointed towards the antenna, otherwise I wouldn't know to look there. It's probably best to take it to a workshop to avoid damaging something else.

Okay, that's really helpful, thanks! Sounds like it's worth getting it checked out by a professional. The error code I have also points to the antenna, so fingers crossed it's the same issue. I'll book it in. For future reference: the repair ended up costing 95€. The cable and plug connection was indeed defective.

I had a similar problem with my SpaceTourer. Symptoms sound familiar. Have you checked the cable and plug connections to the antenna in the bumper? That was the culprit for me. Basically the car thinks the key isn't present for starting because the antenna isn't 'seeing' it properly.
