SpaceTourer Microphone Failure

The infotainment system seems fine otherwise. Navigation, media playback, all that jazz is working. The error code is pretty vague, just something about 'audio input malfunction.' You mentioned a hardware problem... are we talking serious money here? Is there anything else I can check myself before throwing in the towel and taking it to a workshop? Could a software refresh potentially fix this, or am I clutching at straws?

Unfortunately, an 'audio input malfunction' error, coupled with the complete loss of microphone function despite other infotainment features working, strongly suggests a defective infotainment system, specifically the component handling audio input. Given it's a 2022 model, a software glitch is less probable, though not entirely impossible. Realistically, you're looking at a repair or replacement of the infotainment unit. Given the mileage, you are also out of any manufacturer warranty, right? I'd advise getting a professional diagnosis, but prepare for the worst. A new unit plus labour is likely the best part of 800€-ish, based on previous experiences.

Thanks for the insight. I suspected it was something along those lines. I bit the bullet and took it to the workshop. They confirmed it: defective infotainment system. Repair cost came out to be 815€, which is exactly what you predicted. Ouch. At least it's fixed now. Appreciate the help!

Hmm, that sounds suspiciously like a deeper issue than just a setting gone awry. Since you've exhausted the obvious troubleshooting steps (audio input, volume, voice recognition, wireless connection), it does point towards a potential hardware problem. Is the infotainment system itself behaving normally otherwise? Are all other functions working as expected, or are you seeing any other glitches or freezes? Does the error code give you any specific pointers, or is it just a generic 'microphone failure' type message?
