Thanks! Yes, the traction control does seem to engage early sometimes. I'll check the yaw rate readings. What was the fix in your case? How bad was the damage and how much did it cost?

Given the traction control issues and the lateral acceleration sensor fault, it does sound like the control unit is the culprit. I would suggest that you seek professional assistance from a reputable workshop equipped to handle such matters. Attempting a self-repair in this instance could potentially exacerbate the problem.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a certified workshop. They verified the lateral acceleration sensor fault and said the control unit was defective, like you thought. The repair, including replacing the control unit, cost about 1000€.

I have a Spark, and a similar situation occurred a while back. ABS light, same error code. Have you noticed any issues with the traction control system activating unexpectedly, or the yaw rate readings being erratic during the diagnostic scan?
