Spark AC and Temperature Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Chevrolet Spark is experiencing an error message on the speedometer and a non-functional AC, possibly linked to a defective temperature sensor heat exchanger. The issue may be related to the air conditioning control unit affecting temperature readings. Checking for coolant leaks and sensor calibration are suggested, but professional diagnosis and repair are recommended due to the complexity and potential need for specialized equipment.

Coolant levels seem fine. When you say sensor calibration, do you mean for the temperature sensor itself? Is that something I can do myself, or does it require special equipment?

In my case, it turned out the air conditioning control unit was defective. It was affecting the temperature readings and causing all sorts of problems. I wouldn't recommend trying to calibrate it yourself without the proper tools. If you're seeing those symptoms and suspect a temperature sensor issue, it's probably best to take it to a workshop. I ended up paying around 850€ for the repair on my Corsa, so brace yourself.

Appreciate the insight! Sounds like I'm headed for the shop then. Fingers crossed it's not too expensive. I will post the diagnosis when I have it. Thanks again!

That's a tricky one! I actually had a somewhat similar issue with my old Opel Corsa, although the symptoms were slightly different. Mine was throwing a code related to the cooling system, and the climate control was acting up. Have you checked for any coolant leaks or tried sensor calibration? It might be worth looking into.
