I'm getting a fault code indicating a defective control unit. Did you happen to get the same diagnostic, and if so, what exactly did you do to fix it?

Yep, defective control unit sounds right. Honestly, I didn't mess around with it myself. I took it straight to a workshop. Those control units can be a real pain, and without the right tools, you're kinda sunk. They quoted me around 1000€ for parts and labor, but it fixed everything.

Sounds like my gut feeling about the control unit was right. Looks like a trip to the shop is in order. Sharing your experience saved me a lot of time and frustration. Cost me 1000€, same as you!

SPARK

Whoa, that sounds familiar! I've got a Spark too, and I had almost identical symptoms a while back. ABS light, traction control going haywire... pretty sure it was the speedo going nuts too. What codes are you pulling from the computer?
