Spider Rear Window Heating Problem
Summary of the thread
A 1998 Renault Spider is experiencing issues with the rear window heating, accompanied by a diagnostic error and weak windshield heating. The problem may be related to loose or corroded connections to the heating coil, which can disrupt the electrical current. It is suggested to have the vehicle inspected by a professional workshop to accurately diagnose and resolve the issue.

I checked the connections, and they look okay, but could you tell me more about the corrosion you found, even at a microscopic level, or how the connections were secured? Was your windshield heating affected?

To be honest, I'm not that technical. Visually they looked okay, but after fiddling I could see that one of the connections was loose enough to stop the current - enough to throw the error, and reduce effectiveness. If your windshield heating is also acting up and you've got error codes already, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. I wasted time on this before.

Thanks for the advice. I'm taking it to a workshop. Repair cost will be around 290€.

I've got a Spider too. I had a similar problem with my rear window defroster. The error code pointed me in circles. Did you check the connections to the heating coil on the window itself? They can corrode or come loose, which can cause these weird electrical issues.
