Spin diesel check engine light
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Chevy Spin diesel is experiencing a check engine light, reduced engine power, and smoke during acceleration. The suspected cause is a malfunctioning crankcase ventilation valve, which can lead to rough idling and emissions issues. The recommended solution is to have the vehicle checked and repaired at a workshop to resolve these problems.

Rough idle, hmm... now that you mention it, yes! It's not super obvious, but it definitely feels a little shaky sometimes, especially when cold. So, tell me more - was it definitely the crankcase ventilation? And what kind of mayhem did it cause?

Yup, crankcase ventilation was the culprit! The whole system went haywire, messing with my emissions and generally making the car unhappy. Honestly, after fiddling around a bit, I just took it to a workshop. Best 360€ I've spent in ages. Save yourself the headache and get it checked!

Okay, crankcase ventilation it is! Rough idle and smoke - sounds like I'm heading for the workshop. Thanks for confirming my suspicions! I'll get it sorted and hopefully that'll be the end of my smoky Spin saga.

Whoa, sounds familiar! I had a similar thing happen with my Spin. Check that crankcase ventilation valve. Is your idle rough too? Because that was a big clue for me before things got properly hairy.
