Spin siren malfunction

My 2021 Chevrolet Spin with a gasoline engine is throwing a hissy fit. I'm getting an error related to the siren, and the whole alarm system is totally unresponsive. No chirp when I lock, nothing! I'm betting it's a security breach waiting to happen! I've checked the basics – fuses look good, but I suspect a dodgy cable or plug connection somewhere in the alarm circuit. Anyone seen anything like this before?

Summary of the thread

A 2021 Chevrolet Spin is experiencing a malfunction with its alarm system, specifically related to the siren, resulting in a lack of response when locking the vehicle. The issue is suspected to be due to a faulty cable or plug connection within the alarm circuit. A similar problem in another vehicle was resolved by addressing a corroded connector near the siren, suggesting that checking and possibly replacing the siren connector could be a solution. Ultimately, the problem was resolved by fixing the faulty siren connector at a workshop.

Whoa, sounds like a real headache! I had a similar alarm system problem with my old Renault Megane a while back. Turned out to be a corroded connector causing a signal problem. Have you tried wiggling the wires and connectors around the siren to see if anything changes? Could be a simple fix!

Cheers for the tip! When you say corroded connector, was it obvious? Like, did you see visible corrosion, or was it more subtle? And where exactly was the connector located on your Megane? Trying to get a sense of where to start poking around on my Spin.

Yeah, on the Megane, it was pretty obvious once I found it – greenish gunk all over the pins. It was right near the siren itself, under the wheel arch liner. Honestly, though, even if you don't see anything obvious, it might still be worth getting it checked at a workshop. Could save you a lot of grief!

Thanks for the insight! I took your advice and brought it to the shop. Turns out the siren connector was indeed faulty, just like you said. 95€ later and it's all sorted. I appreciate the help!
